This massive 300 foot tall concrete intake structure was attached to the face of an existing cast in place concrete structure to regulate water temperature and volume displacement at Cougar Reservoir to enable fish prosperity. Construction included temporary water supply pipe to the powerhouse; dewatering a portion of the reservoir; 10 foot diameter HDPE river bypass pipe; 50foot tall stepped concrete cofferdam; demolition of portions of existing cast in place structure; attachment of 300 feet of CIP intake structure to existing structure; and fabrication and installation of intake screens, water gates and gate hoist winches.
