This four story, 45,000 square foot expansion project provided modern and functional space for art exhibits. Construction included cast in place concrete columns and elevated slab on deck with structural steel beams to support the slabs; significant seismic mitigation; matching 70 year old masonry, existing plaster and wood work; ornate finish metal work; reconditioning of the existing Zen courtyard, hydraulic freight and passenger elevators; and travertine marble staircase with stained glass windows.
